Island Roamer and Island Solitude, one way between Terrace and Bella Bella
Bluewater Adventures has run small ship eco tours on the British Columbia coast since 1974, and it is one of the longest established operators in the region. Its Great Bear Rainforest program is an 8 day one way voyage. One end is on the Terrace side, where guests transfer to Kitimat for boarding, and the other end is Bella Bella. The vessel works its way through fjords and estuaries without backtracking. The route focuses on bears, whales, fjord scenery and Indigenous culture, aboard two vessels, Island Roamer and Island Solitude.
The current status comes first. The fall 2027 season has 6 sailings, from late August to mid October, and every one is marked booked on the operator site. This page therefore does not take bookings. It does two things: waitlist registration, contacted in order if a space opens, and inquiries about the route and future seasons. A waitlist registration is not a promise of a space.
Wildlife appears by season and by chance. Bears and whales are never guaranteed, and the spirit bear cannot be promised either.

The operator site says fully booked. Why does this page exist? Because waitlists are real. When a guest withdraws, the space is released in waitlist order. We register and pass on requests. We do not promise that a space will open. Does waitlist registration cost anything? No. Registration records your contact details and date preferences only, and no payment is taken. If a space opens, booking and payment are confirmed by a Net2global team member under the operator terms. This site does not take payments automatically. Why do the two vessels have different prices? Island Roamer is CAD 8,850 per person and Island Solitude is CAD 11,065 per person, both public retail references for the fall 2027 8 day voyage. Vessel and price follow the sailing you are waitlisted for, and details are verified with the operator when a space is confirmed. Can you guarantee a spirit bear? No. The route covers bears, whales, fjords and Indigenous culture. Fall offers a chance of the spirit bear, and there is no guarantee of any sighting. When can fall 2028 be booked? The operator has not released those sailings in our records. Register an inquiry and we will notify registered guests when the season is published.
